Peta Bradley the manager of Sheep Genetics, has confirmed the Poll/Horn results reported in genomic and parentage testing has only been validated in Merino sheep as per the work published in the paper below. The Poll/Horn test has not been validated in any other sheep breed and should not be considered for White Suffolks in relation to breeding for Polledness. The research also only refers to a full horn (Horn) or no horn (Poll). Traits like knobs and scur are controlled by a different set of genes/mode of inheritance to poll/horn and therefore cannot be inferred from the P/H results in any sheep breed including Merinos.
